There were multiple reports last night of Adriano being involved in a recent altercation with his ex-girlfriend Joana Machado at a club in Rio. She attacked him and threw stones at his car on the way out the door. This is the same girlfriend whose break up last year caused Adriano’s bizzare mental breakdown, exit from Inter Milan, and subsequent three day disappearance without contacting anyone, while he partied in the favelas.

Normally I really could care less about what happens in players’ personal lives, but due to the player involved it was worth the post. Adriano’s position on the national team is not certain for the summer. These types of incidents, even if he was innocently attacked, cannot please Dunga.

Dunga did not address his thoughts on the incident directly, but stated, “I said and I repeat, they (the players) are not going to do what they did in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Not only because I do not want it, the President of the CBF does not want it, the players themselves do not want it and the Brazilian fans do not want it.”
